Getting on the Path of Life

He will be the sure foundation for your times, a rich store of salvation and wisdom and knowledge; the fear of the Lord is the key to this treasure. Isaiah 33:6

When you accept Jesus as your Lord and savior by confessing and believing (Romans 10:9-10), you are walking in agreement with His plan for your life (Amos 3:3, 1 Timothy 2:4).  You are now a new creation, and have graciously been given a new, clean start because of what Jesus did for you (2 Corinthians 5:17).  Picture it in the form of a house.  You now have the sure foundation, the solid rock to build God’s/your house upon regardless of where you were before (Isaiah 33:6, Matthew 7:24).

Jesus said in John 14:2 that His Father’s house has many mansions.  We take this to mean that we will be living in a prepared place when we get to Heaven.  Yes, but according to Matthew 6:10, He wants us to build our house here and now and occupy till He comes (Luke 19:12-13).  We have to make sure we are building our house the Lord’s way and not our way.  1 Corinthians 3:12-14 “Now if anyone builds on this foundation with gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, straw, each one’s work will become clear; for the Day will declare it, because it will be revealed by fire; and the fire will test each one’s work, of what sort it is. If anyone’s work which he has built on it endures, he will receive a reward.

Proverbs 24:3-4 explains how to build your house, “Through wisdom a house is built, and by understanding it is established; By knowledge the rooms are filled with all precious and pleasant riches.” The only way to receive this wisdom is from the Lord (Proverbs 2:6-7).  You must seek Him first and renew your mind with His word (Matthew 6:33 and Romans 12:2) to find out how to eternally build your entire house.  Choose today that your house, and every room within it, will be a storm shelter that will withstand the wiles of the devil (Ephesians 6:11).
