Being Led in What to Teach

Teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; Matthew 28:20a

If someone just got saved, they will not be on the same step on the revelation staircase as you are. They may be on step 1, while you may be on step 140. If you try to share with them the revelation you received that took you from step 139 to 140 they may not understand. Paul says in 1 Corinthians 9:19-22, that he makes himself a servant of all. To the Jew, he becomes as a Jew. To those under the law, he is under the law. To those outside the law (Word of God), he becomes as one without law even though he is within the law of Christ. Then he says in verse 22, “I have become all things to all men, that I might by all means save some.” Paul is not telling you to go out and sin with the sinners to win them for Christ. What he is saying is understand where they are. That is what the Lord does with us. If that person is on step 1, meet them at step 1. Help them to get to step 2. Jesus said in Matthew 28:20 to teach others what He has taught you. Jesus did not teach you to sin, but He did teach you how to get from step 1 to step 2.
Hebrews 5:12-14 says, “For though by this time you ought to be teachers, you need someone to teach you again the first principles of the oracles of God; and you have come to need milk and not solid food. For everyone who partakes only of milk is unskilled in the word of righteousness, for he is a babe. But solid food belongs to those who are of full age, that is, those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil.“ You were once a baby who drank milk, but you have learned to eat meat. So you are equipped to teach being led by the Spirit. Don’t jump to teach others what you are currently being taught. You can’t give a newborn baby a bottle with a steak in it. They will not get anything from it, and probably end up getting frustrated or upset since they are not being fed. God knows what they need. Trust the Holy Spirit to lead you and speak through you to help others grow in the Word of God.
